Racquetball inventorJoseph Sobek

A former tennis pro in New York state, Sobek was frustrated with paddleball — too slow for him. So, in the 1950s he invented racquetball at his local YMCA, and later became the first inductee into the Racquetball Hall of Fame. He died March 27 at 79.
