“Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? The Shadow knows!” John Archer voiced those words to introduce The Shadow, a popular radio show of the 1940s — and heard on tape for generations since.
An actor and radio announcer, Archer also performed on the radio shows The FBI in Peace and War and Amanda of Honeymoon Hill. He also played characters in more than 50 films, including Destination Moon to Sherlock Holmes in Washington. He died December 5 at age 84.
